System requirements
Quick answer
Dawson Oaks Trailer Park is a lightweight multiplayer game at heart - it is a park full of people, not a graphics showcase - and the official requirements reflect that. Here is the official spec sheet, what the launch build actually weighs, and the settings fixes launch-week players are using for the two most common issues.
Official system requirements
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 | Windows 11 |
| Processor | Intel i5-6400 | (not listed - any modern quad-core) |
| Memory | 4 GB RAM | 8 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti |
| DirectX | Version 11 | Version 11 |
| Network | Broadband internet | Broadband internet |
| Storage | 5 GB available space | 5 GB available space |
The live depot currently weighs about 2.4 GB installed (roughly 900 MB to download), so the 5 GB storage line on the store has comfortable headroom. The game is Windows-only - there is no Mac or Linux build, and no console version has been announced.
What it actually needs in practice
The spec sheet is honest but incomplete, because different machines hit different walls:
- The game is GPU-bound more than CPU-bound at the recommended tier; players on older cards should expect to drop the preset.
- Multiplayer sync quality matters more than raw frames - the launch-week complaint list was dominated by disconnects and crashes, not performance. Patch 1.0.3 and the earlier hotfixes target exactly those.
- Single-machine testing without a second player is limited to the tutorial, so the fastest way to sanity-check your setup is one joined public lobby before you commit to hosting.
Fixes for launch-week issues
"Screen door" mesh effect / heavy shimmering. Players report a fine grid artifact on certain upscaling settings. Fix path: lower the overall graphics preset, and turn off upscaling or set it to a native/quality mode. It is a display artifact, not a GPU failure.
Crashes on start or mid-round. The launch-week hotfixes (before and including 1.0.3) were largely crash and stability fixes, as confirmed by the studio's community rep. If you are still crashing: verify file integrity in Steam, update your GPU driver, and disable overlays you do not need.
Disconnects when a match starts. The September 18 studio post says their fix "might not fix it for everyone" and tracking continues. Update to 1.0.3, and report still-happening cases in the Steam discussions - quantity of reports is what the studio says it is working from.
Audio chaos. The park is loud by design (slot machines included), but the game supports custom volume controls - turn voice and effects down separately if your mic is picking up battle scenes.
Is it Steam Deck verified?
Not as far as we can verify. No Deck Verified badge has been announced and the store page does not list controller support at launch. We will update this section when that changes.
